Job Description
Our client is seeking a qualified Test Engineer to join our team in Stellenbosch working on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week in our office. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Javabased backend systems with a focus on microservices architecture.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies for Javabased backend systems
- Create and maintain automated test frameworks for microservices
- Conduct thorough testing of Kafka event streams and gRPC APIs
- Validate system behavior in distributed environments
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
- (Preferred) Participate in infrastructure testing using Nomad and Docker
- (Preferred) Develop test tooling using TypeScript
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 35 years of professional experience in software testing
- Strong expertise in testing Java backend applications
- Solid understanding of Kafka and eventdriven architectures
- Experience testing gRPC services
- Knowledge of microservices testing methodologies
- Experience with container orchestration (Nomad) and containerization (Docker)
- Familiarity with TypeScript for test automation
- Background in telecommunications systems
