Juvenile Detention Center Summer School Program

DESCRIPTION:Organize plan teach and implement varying curriculum to students in detention from grade six through twelve. Use existing materials and resources to complete activities to increase student learning. Other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:Valid Washington state certification with appropriate endorsement. Experience working with marginalized underrepresented and struggling students a must. Developing curriculum and lessons from a variety of sources will be necessary. Flexibility and maintaining an orderly classroom with a continuous flow of students in and out of the program is must. Having a background in Special Education or certification in Special Ed. is helpful to work with students on IEPs. Bilingual bicultural and biliterate (English/Spanish) applicants are preferred.Must be flexible. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this job.
