With the proliferation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AIenabled mechanisms that are now being used across organizations to support accelerate and enable a wide spectrum of business outcomes and critical regulated and materially sensitive workflows there is a need to provide our stakeholders with the assurance that these AIenabled mechanisms are designed appropriately and operate effectively. Providing assurance on AWS responsible AI practices is a critical differentiator for our customers and simplifies their adoption of AIenabled mechanisms in a compliant manner

The Amazon Compliance and Security Assurance team is responsible for demonstrating the governance and security controls of services offered by Amazon. At Amazon scale we must invent new ways to provide the highest level of assurance to our most regulatory conscious customers. We are seeking an experienced Principal Security Specialist who can apply broad risk compliance and regulatory knowledge to challenging and complex AI / ML initiatives.


Key job responsibilities
* You will help shape and develop the strategy for what Responsible AI Assurance will look like at AWS and operationalize it globally.
* You will be a leader in the development and implementation of frameworks governance models and risk management strategies that provide consistent assurance at scale regarding AWS AI initiatives.
* You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders associated with AI/ML systems to build fit for purpose mechanisms that make it easy to provide assurance on our AI approach methodology mechanisms tooling and services to customers and external stakeholders.
* You will conduct indepth assessments and audits of AI/ML systems evaluating their compliance with relevant regulations industry standards and Amazons internal policies and provide recommendations for improvement.
* You will serve as a subject matter expert on AI/ML assurance staying uptodate with the latest developments best practices and emerging trends in the field and sharing your knowledge with internal and external stakeholders.

A day in the life
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including data scientists engineers product managers legal professionals security engineers audit and assurance professionals to review and assess the AI/ML initiatives.
Conduct indepth audits and assessments of AI/ML services evaluating their compliance with relevant regulations industry standards and Amazons internal policies.
Develop and implement assurance frameworks governance models and risk management strategies tailored to AWS AI/ML initiatives.
Stay uptodate with the latest developments best practices and emerging trends in the field of AI/ML.
Engage with stakeholders to understand their specific requirements and concerns related to AI/ML assurance.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other related fields or equivalent experience.
10 years of experience in project/program management in a technical field.
5 years of IT security audit assurance governanceriskcompliance and/or relevant regulatory experience.

Experience in cloud technologies.
Have an understanding of evaluating the design and effectiveness of IT controls
Experience in Responsible AI/AI Regulation/AI Compliance/AI Assurance

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
