School Year: 202425Position: Associate Dean of StudentsCampus: United Elementary 17th (s): Kindergarten5th GradeReports to: Dean of StudentsUnited Schools (United) is a nonprofit organization in Columbus Ohio. After founding its first school in 2008 it has worked together with incredible leaders to open three more schools in the span of ten years. Each United campus is an open enrollment public charter school that works diligently to close the opportunity gap in Columbus. Moreover the mission of all United campuses is to transform lives and our communities through the power of education while maintaining our vision: For every child an open door. United currently operates two highperforming elementary schools (K5 and two highperforming middle schools 68 that serve more than 800 students. We strive to provide students with a rigorous academic experience in a joyful learning environment and we work hard to ensure that students of all levels grow and succeed by focusing on intentional student support and continual improvement. Position DescriptionThe Associate Dean of Students (ADOS) position is integral in building a strong positive and joyful school culture. Together with the Dean of Students the Associate Dean assists in supporting and coaching staff on creating strong classroom environments. The ADOS promotes positive behavior by assisting in the planning of school celebrations and events and gets proximate with students families and staff to address behavioral concerns. In addition they maintain accurate behavioral records and implement systems for improvement as needed. On the whole the ADOS position works to support and strengthen positive school culture and can serve as a strong mentor for students in Our TeamUnited Core Traits: MissionDriven. Team members maintain a sense of calm while addressing a number of : Holds a B.A./B.S. degree (required). Has at least two years of successful teaching experience in an urban school (preferred).Knowledge and Skills: Is committed to using datadriven instructional practices and the techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student outcomes. Is relentless in writing refining and internalizing curriculum lessons and assessments. Is open and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team members. Communicates effectively with students families and colleagues. Comfortability with Google products for effective communication and completion of job of Employment Applications will be considered immediately on a rolling basis until the position is filled. This is a fulltime position. Report times are typically Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. although some jobrelated tasks can be expected outside of these hours. Salary: The starting salary for a new Associate Dean of Students with a Bachelors degree is $49000. The starting salary for other applicants will depend on professional experience and education level.
