Software Development Engineer AWS Edge Connectivity

AWS Edge Connectivity service enables AWS Cloud connectivity options for US Intelligence and Department of Defense customers. These connectivity options allow our customer to deploy and run their isolated sensitive workloads in an environment exclusive for their usecase. We help our customers to onboard manage and scale their connectivity options for maintaining persistent connection to AWS Isolated cloud.

In this role you will build network pathways with which customers connect to Amazons Dedicated Cloud partitions. Youll architect and implement software security protocols across Wide Area Networks (WANs) ensuring seamless and secure access to dedicated cloud environments. By developing sophisticated control and dataplane systems youll protect critical customer connections flowing through Amazons global network of datacenters. Youll leverage the AWS ecosystem and integrate with thirdparty solutions to create secure pathways that meet our customers stringent security requirements. Working alongside technology experts across Amazon youll define the next generation of dedicated cloud connectivity setting new standards for enterprisegrade security. Your expertise in network encryption and software development will directly impact how how AWS customers access their missioncritical cloud infrastructure.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Collaborate with crossdisciplinary Amazonians to design build and implement cloud based services for managing encrypted network connections
Build distributed systems that are scalable faulttolerant low cost with ease of management and use.
Influence product direction through databacked technical insights and framing solutions in terms of business impact.

Participate in oncall rotation in support of our services

A day in the life
Our team follows the Agile development methodology. Team members participate in daily standups and weekly sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions. We conduct annual program planning and quarterly prioritization meetings to align tasks with organizational goals. Developers Program Management (PM) team and SingleThreaded Owners (STOs) collaborate to define and execute these tasks. Each developer serves as oncall support approximately four times per year to maintain our service availability target.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Bachelors degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience with network Layer2/3 encryption(HAIPE/Ethernet Data Encryption(EDE)
Current active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
