Job Description

Position: Reading Teacher Location: Stacy Middle SchoolSchedule:School Year Salary:Per Teachers ContractTo Start: August 28 2025 (two mentoring days prior to start date 8/198/20)Qualifications: Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher Licensure: Reading All LevelsSheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement requiredBilingual PreferredResponsibilities:Implement the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for Language Arts and Literacy (Grades 68)Implement instructional strategies that address various learning styles while maintaining high academic standardsUtilize multiple forms of assessment data (formative summative diagnostic and standardized) to guide instructional planning and deliveryCreate learning environments where students cultural knowledge and experiences are recognized as valuable assetsSupport English Learners (ELs) Former Limited English Proficient (FLEP) and students with disabilities through evidencebased instructional strategies and collaboration with colleaguesEmbrace blended learning approaches that combine traditional instruction with digital experiencesIntegrate socialemotional learning strategies to support student wellbeing and academic successDemonstrate a commitment to equity through culturally responsive teaching that affirms the identities and experiences of all studentsActively engage in professional learning to analyze student data share best practices and support schoolwide to schoolwide literacy initiatives and curriculum development by actively engaging in professional learning opportunitiesRegular communication with families regarding student progressPerform standard duties as required by administration
