If you are a positive and confident Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant looking for a dynamic career opportunity with aninnovative and highly respected educational organization join the Joplin School District! We are seeking a selfmotivatedand friendly COTA to provide services to students throughout our district. You willfollow IEP plans for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal a COTA with Joplin you must possess excellent written communication skills assist supervising OT to developIEPs and document student progress on goals. Communication is essential to facilitate collaboration with felloweducators administrators and parents. You also must be able towork independently and be accountable for your work.
Qualifications:
Additional requirements for theCOTA include:
No experience is required but must have experience through clinical externships through the educational program attended
Ability to assess analyze and remediate areas identified under the direction of the supervising Occupational Therapist and IEP team.

Maintains accurate records and filing systems for accountability and audit purposes as required by law and Board policy.
Solve practical problems utilizing math functions as needed to complete job duties.
Read and interpret documents such as work orders safety rules and handbooks and apply to job duties.
Essential Functions:
An individual who holds this position is required to:
Participate in professional development activities
Communicate regularly withOT and case managers regarding progress and other educational concerns
Participate as a member of an IEP team 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
Implement special educational plans such as 504 plans individual educational programs and individual health plans
Report suspected abuse neglect discrimination and harassments as directed by Board policy

Conditions and Environment
The individual who holds this position will regularly work in a school environment that is noisy and active. Occasionally the individual will be required to work outdoors for short periods of time to perform such tasks as loading and unloading students from district transportation and supervising recess.
