Job Summary:The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Computer Science Mathematics Physics Applied Economics or a related quantitative field.
Skills and Knowledge:Knowledge of scientific computing data assimilation and machine learning frameworks. Proficiency in writing clean efficient and welldocumented code. Mathematics skills including linear algebra and partial differential equations. Ability to implement software solutions based on technical specifications provided by researchers. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:Expertise in modeling geophysical systems. Strong proficiency in machine learning libraries such as PyTorch. Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and collaborative software development.
