Job Description
SPECIAL EDUCATION SUBSTITUTE TEACHER $180 PER DAY
GENERAL EDUCATION SUBSTITUTE TEACHER $167 PER DAY
EDUCATION ASSISTANT SUBSTITUTE $19.90 PER HOUR
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelors Degree in Education preferred for long term assignments.
Experience: None. One year in similar position preferred.
Physical Requirements: Constant handeye/mindeye coordination. Frequent walking speaking writing bending carrying pushing pulling sitting and turning. Some lifting up to 30 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Other Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficiency in word processing spreadsheets data entry email and internet. Ability to keep student information confidential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:
- Responsible for the daily management and operations of assigned classroom in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
- Reviews with principal or designee all plans duties and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Teaches the outlined lesson as provided by the classroom teacher.
- Maintains as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
- Follows all policies rules and procedures to which classroom teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Communicates with the classroom teacher following the assignment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
