Job Title: Sheet Metal Foreman

Department: Projects

FLSA Status: Hourly

Coordinates With: Project Managers

JOB SUMMARY: MSI seeks a Sheet Metal Foreman to be responsible for sheet metal estimation fabrication and supervision of sheet metal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Draw up sheet metal related airside equipment items for job.
  • Work with projects managers in setting up job files and initiating purchase of sheet metal buy items.
  • Allocates sheet metal manpower to field project so as to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Perform sheet metal labor projections and maintain a proper work place.
  • Review and track all sheet metal costing and review progress with projects managers.
  • Develop estimating standards to streamline sheet metal takeoffs and procedures. Keep current with market over time.
  • Direct efforts of Sheet Metal Shop to meet all fabrication requirements and provide detailed shop fabrication estimates.
  • Manage field man hour reports and prepare weekly progress report for production meeting.
  • Formulates and submits training proposals to keep employee skills and knowledge current with industry developments.
  • Ensure all department personnel practice safe working procedures at all times.
  • Promote and participate in education and training opportunities that allow the company and it employees to meet stated goals objectives and business plans.
  • Participate in quality associates with a role model example of the companys business and work ethic as delineated in MSIs Mission Statement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in field operations and 5 years shop experience.
  • Indepth knowledge of sheet metal operations standards.
  • Thorough understanding of local and industry codes that regulate the HVAC&R industry.
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate employees.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Physically workers must be able to Stand or walk for long periods; ability to lift 50 pounds; use arms and hands to reach for handle and climb up and down ladders scaffolds and see (naturally or with correction).
