A GES team Cadence Resource/Administrator plays a crucial role in the management support and optimization of Cadence tools and software which are used primarily for electronic design automation (EDA). These professionals ensure that the tools and related infrastructure run smoothly supporting engineers and designers working on chip designs simulations and other EDA tasks. Below is a detailed job description for a Cadence Administrator role:

Job Title: Cadence Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cadence Administrator/User to manage and maintain the Cadence suite of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools within our Teamcentercentric PLM system. This position requires a deep understanding of Cadence software troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide technical support for users within the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in system administration performance tuning user management and integrating Cadence tools with other engineering platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Cadence Tools Administration:

  • Install configure and maintain Cadence tools such as Allegro Virtuoso and OrCAD ensuring that all software is uptodate and compatible with the organizations systems.
  • Install configure and maintain Cadence resource component libraries (CIS/HDL and System Capture) ensuring compatibility with the organizations systems.
  • Manage software licenses including troubleshooting license issues and ensuring compliance with software agreements.
  • Oversee integration of Cadence tools with other EDA tools as needed.
  • Oversee integration of Cadence with Teamcentercentric PLM system that couples with Oracle ERP.

System Maintenance & Support:

  • Provide technical support for Cadence users troubleshooting software and hardware issues through JIRA system.
  • Monitor system performance and optimize configurations to ensure efficient tool usage.
  • Ensure system backups to maintain stability of Cadence environments.

User Management & Training:

  • Manage user access including setting up user accounts permissions and access rights.
  • Provide training to new and existing users on how to utilize Cadence tools effectively.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures tips and best practices for endusers.

Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor performance of Cadence tools address performance/connectivity related issues and improve system efficiency.

Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with engineers to understand tool requirements and improve workflows.
  • Generate usage reports for license tracking resource utilization and tool performance.
  • Assist in the implementation of new Cadence features and updates.

System Upgrades and Patches:

  • Support or Manage software upgrades and patches to ensure the latest features security updates and bug fixes are applied.
  • Coordinate system maintenance and updates.

Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure all Cadence environments comply with security policies and standards.
  • Implement and monitor backup disaster recovery and security practices for Cadencerelated systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3 years of experience with Cadence tools with inclination toward system administration skill & technical support.
    • Proficiency in Cadence operations installs and configuration.
    • Experience integrating Cadence with PLM system (Teamcenter Preferred)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of Cadence EDA tools (Virtuoso Allegro OrCAD etc..
    • Familiarity with licensing management including FlexLM.
    • Experience with performance tuning system optimization and resource management.
    • Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and custom tool configuration.
    • Experience with Code management in Bitbucket or similar
    • Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills for hardware software and network
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills to provide support and training to engineers and other stakeholders.
    • Global perspective for admin support and collaboration
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cloudbased infrastructure (Azure) and cloud tools used in EDA environments.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN (BitBucket).
  • Certification in Windows OS PLM Admin(Teamcenter) and system administration or other relevant credentials.
