Summary:
We at Clio have an amazing team on a mission to transform the legal experience for all. Our engineering teams goal is to deliver an incredible customer experience. To enable that experience our Systems Engineering team strives to build performant reliable and scalable infrastructure to empower Clios engineering teams to do their best work.
We seek a Software Developer Cloud Observability to join our growing Cloud Observability team.
This role is available to candidates across Canada (excluding Quebec). If you are local to one of our hubs (Burnaby Calgary or Toronto) you will be expected to be in office twice per week on our Anchor Days.
Candidate must possess strong development skills and be proficient in writing debugging and optimizing code across multiple programming languages.
A day in the life might look like:
Collaborating with software developers and crafting Go code to refine and improve local development tooling ensuring a smooth starttoship experience.
Proactively enhancing our observability to ensure toptier reliability.
Overseeing the CI/CD processes ensuring performance reliability and security
Partnering with Engineering teams to define cloud architecture and implement
Leading technical discussions and initiatives becoming a driving force in improving developer efficiency and experience.
Mentoring team members sharing expertise and conducting knowledge sessions to uplift everyones skill set.
You may be a fit for this role if:
You deeply understand the DevOps process and the software development lifecycle and constantly think of ways to improve it.
Youre selfdriven eager to learn and excel at breaking down complex problems.
You communicate clearly whether its through text voice or in person.
An innate curiosity drives you prompting you to always ask the whys behind issues. Collaboration is key for you and you gather the necessary context to inform your decisions. Assisting team members in challenging situations is second nature to you.
What you may have:
This is not a checklist to be satisfied. If you have experience or interest in some of these areas wed love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
Experience with Observability tools like Datadog ELK Prometheus and Grafana
Experience managing AWS resources with Pulumi or Terraform.
Experience with CICD systems such as Buildkite ShipIt GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. Both in with the pipelines as well as the creation configuration and maintenance of these systems as a whole
Experience supporting local development in a distributed services architecture. Experience with containerization technologies especially Docker.
Serious bonus points if you have:
Experience managing AWS resources with Pulumi or Terraform.
Development experience in Ruby Python or GoLang
Experience managing selfhosted CI/CD systems
Experience with package management processes
Experience with Kubernetes

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
