Job Description
ClevelandCliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Customer Technical Services Engineer in the Philadelphia PA area. The Customer Technical Services Engineer is the primary technical liaison with our customers to resolve claims or quality problems and to ensure that the material supplied meets the customers requirements. This position is also responsible for assisting customers with their steel use needs.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Assists customers in using ClevelandCliffs products
- Makes service calls on assigned customers to investigate and resolve claims or quality problems. Assures that complaints are handled in a fair timely manner
- Coordinates ClevelandCliffs actions to respond to steelrelated issues with root cause analysis
- Communicates detailed customer requirements to ClevelandCliffs Steel
- Assists Quality Control in developing or revising mill routings to meet specific customer requirements
- Reviews customer quality performance data and provides feedback to ClevelandCliffs management
- Assists ClevelandCliffs Sales in promoting and testing of new or improved products
- Works with customers on quality improvement or cost reduction projects
- Coordinates sample and trial activities at assigned customer plants
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Frequent travel including some overnight
- Basic knowledge of steel mill operations and steelrelated defects is required
- Requires excellent communication skills (written verbal and presentation) and the ability to relate to all levels of the customers; and ClevelandCliffs organization
- Computer skills required MS Office: Word Excel PowerPoint Access Teams and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent experience
- Experience with Carbon and Stainless Steel
- Knowledge of steel use technology (forming welding painting corrosion)
