Material Handler II

Location/Division Specific Information:

Monday Friday 2pm 10:30 pm

Grand Island NYBiologicals and Chemicals Division (BCD). Manufacturing facility producing liquid and powder media and developing cell culture cell therapies.

Your impact will range from delivering products that help a scientist discover a cure for cancer to helping a nurse care for a patient effectively because they have the right equipment.

A Day in the Life:

  • Process customer orders daily to meet their expectations.
  • Work in one or more process paths; receiving picking packing or shipping.
  • Prepares shipping documents coordinates shipments with couriers and ships materials including finished products per applicable SOPs.
  • Ensure inventory is stored accurately.
  • Work with your team to make sure everyone has a magical experience every day.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of general warehouse experience.
  • One to two years experience working with computers and basic software packages including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers).
  • Experience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of current import/export regulations as they relate to shipment of goods to and from the USA.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Selfmotivated selfstarter with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural language and educational backgrounds.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to regularly sit stand walk talk and hear; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Close vision and ability to adjust focus required.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $14.41$19.21.
