Job Description
Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting applications for the following position for theschool year:
Location: South Middle School
Position: Special Education Educational Assistant
Hours: 6 hours per day
Calendar: 183 days per year

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade and one of the following three options:
- Two years of college study.
- An associates or higher degree.
- A passing score on the District reading writing and math assessment.
- Also supplemented by college level work or special vocational training in Special Education principles and practices behavior management and/or procedures related to basic physical/medical needs and personal hygiene. Two years of responsible instructional assistance experience preferably involving contact with students who have some form of learning or physical disability or special cultural social/behavioral needs.
- Experiences working with students who have moderate to severe physical and behavioral disabilities preferred.
- Assists in the planning and implementing of learning experiences of students enrolled in program; confers with teacher.
- Duties involve working with students who may need feeding toileting or changing of diapers and restraining at times due to aggressive behaviors.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and ability to get along well with students.
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.
- Upon selection employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $66 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $16.24$23.47 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
- Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees)
- Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees

- Bereavement leave as per bargaining agreement
- Continuing Education Funds up to $1000 per year
- Up to $1522 per month districtpaid contribution toward fullfamily medical dental and vision insurance
- $4251 per year insurance optout stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan (more than 6hour employees) $3825.90 46hour employees)
- 6 employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
- Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment $800$1400
