Job Description
Under the direction and supervision of a speechlanguage pathologist the speechlanguage assistant is responsible for providing speechlanguage services to students with Individual Education Programs in the schools.
- Under the direction and clinical supervision of a speechlanguage pathologist (SLP) the speechlanguage assistant provides speechlanguage services to students with individualized education programs.
- Collaborates with the SLP supervisor on evidence based interventions to help students achieve their speechlanguage goals and objectives on their IEPs.
- Collaborates with the SLP supervisor regarding information on students IEPs.
- Provides screening to identify students with suspected speechlanguage disabilities.
- Keeps progress and tracking data using qualitative and quantitative information for individual students receiving speechlanguage services.
- In collaboration with the SLP maintains list of students names on the speechlanguage caseload as well as those students who are screened and eligible for speechlanguage IEPs.
- Keeps track of and inventories speechlanguage intervention materials in the schools.
- Logs therapy services using Easy IEP.
- Provides progress reports in collaboration with the SLP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:

- Under the direction and clinical supervision of a speechlanguage pathologist provides speechlanguage services to students with IEPs.
- Works collaboratively with the Evaluation Team Leader and school team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in speechlanguage pathology.
- State License as a speechlanguage assistant through the Commonwealth of MA.
