Job Description
Position Title:Developmental Preschool / Special Education Teacher
Status:FullTime
Reports To:Assistant Director of Developmental Preschool
Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver instruction that supports development in key areas: cognitive adaptive motor socialemotional and communication.
Collaborate with general education teachers communitybased preschool staff occupational therapists physical therapists speechlanguage pathologists and school psychologists.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) using the Indiana IEP system.
Administer and interpret assessments (e.g. ISPROUT) to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
Analyze student data and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Monitor and report on students socialemotional growth and academic development.
Maintain accurate records and prepare regular progress reports.
Required Skills and Attributes
Experience with the Indiana IEP development program
Strong organizational and decisionmaking skills
Flexibility and adaptability in challenging situations
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with students families and team members
First Aid/CPR certification (required)
Additional Responsibilities (as needed)
Provide direct special education services to students in grades K8
Physical Requirements
Frequent bending kneeling reaching and squatting
Must be able to routinely carry lift push or pull materials or equipment
Educational Qualifications
Valid Indiana educator license in Early Childhood Education and/or Special Education
