The person in this position will assist assigned South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) staff in the preparation of quality Requests for Proposals (RFPs)/Simplified Applications (SAs) for grants administered by the SCDE ensuring that the RFP/SA is clear transparent and complies with applicable laws regulations and agency policies and procedures. Annually update the extensive RFP/SA planning calendar based on program office input and help program offices adhere to the set timeline. Review the program offices draft award documents to ensure they meet agency policy and programmatic requirements as stated in the RFP/SA and approved application. Develop update and maintain online grant applications and scoring rubrics to help grant program offices collect applications and reviewer scores. Research grant opportunities for the SCDE and districts. Prepare and email appropriate grant opportunity announcements to the Grant Managers and Grant News listservs. Prepare for workplan meetings with SCDE staff to write grant proposals. Prepare grant application components. Work with the program office to develop the budget narrative in alignment with federal and state laws funding guidance and agency priorities. Review grant proposals against selection criteria and recommend edits or revise to improve quality and alignment with criteria. Serve as a member of a collaborative team that edits revises and proofreads grant applications to meet requirements. Help finalize grant application components and submit applications. Work with SCDE program offices to schedule coordinate develop and present technical assistance sessions for pre post and closeout phases of a grant and other grantrelated presentations as requested. Service includes but are not limited to preparing the presentation to ensure accuracy and completeness providing feedback and suggestions for improvement and managing the presentation during the session. As needed work with the Director and Grant Coordinator II with the development of additional presentations and training materials. As Mura Content specialist for Grant Services create new funding opportunities for SCDE grant opportunities Web page and updates and maintains current and archived opportunities. Update the offices Web sites including creating locating and importing content. As content specialist for the offices intranet Web pages create locate and import content. For all office Web pages review content for accessibility and accuracy and resolve issues before posting. As a member of the SCDEs Accessibility Team evaluate the agencys accessibility issues and help ensure accessibility of all information services and programs. Create training materials templates and trainings based on need. Collaborate with the Director and Grant Coordinator II on the coordination of grantrelated processes and materials including annual reports the Grants Manual the Grants Policy the RFP Template and other documents related to internal controls requested by program offices. Update and maintain checklists for grant award document preparation. Monitor the Office of Grant Services email and provide prompt responses to inquiries and referrals to Grant Services staff and others. Complete other related duties as required.
This position is located in the Office of Grant Services.
A bachelors degree and relevant program experience.
Experience writing content for the web and with a content management system (WordPress Drupal or other) and grantrelated professional experience (experience with federal state foundation funding proposal writing and submissions grants management). A degree can be substituted with fifteen 15 years of working experience in the same area of responsibilities and a high school diploma.
