The specialist will collaborate with our customers and partners on key engagements. You will develop and deliver proofofconcept projects technical workshops and support implementation projects in order to develop or migrate Applications from onpremise databases like Oracle/SQL*Server to AWS eg. AWS RDS AuroraPostgreSQL/MySQL or other Open Source platforms. You will focus on customer solutions such as high volume OLTP/OLAP environments designing and deploying future state petabytescale data services and building and/or designing reference configurations to enable our customers and influence AWS RDS Aurora DynamoDB and other NoSQL databases adoption.

Key job responsibilities
Provide Travel & Hospitality (T&H) customers with deep technical expertise to advance AWS Database Services adoption across their operations from enterprise database management systems to longer term data strategy.
Collaborate with AWS specialist sales marketing and product teams to develop innovative solutions for travel & hospitality customers most challenging business problems
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to travel & hospitality executives helping them navigate cloud transformation and digital innovation
Lead architectural reviews and workshops focused on travel & hospitality use cases including personalizing the traveler experience 360 view of all traveler journey interactions customer loyalty and operational performance insights
Champion industry best practices through AWS blogs whitepapers and reference architectures specific to travel & hospitality solutions. Present at key industry events including AWS re:Invent AWS Summit and major T&H conferences
Educate customers on AWSs value proposition for T&H workloads ensuring solutions are optimized for production environments
Provide feedback to AWS product teams on industryspecific requirements and act as primary point of contact for urgent customer issues in your technical specialty.
Stay current with emerging trends in the T&H industry to help customers innovate and maintain competitive advantage

8 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking data & analytics) experience
3 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
Deep knowledge and experience on at least one commercial relational database (Oracle SQL Server IBM2 or open source database (PostgreSQL MySQL MariaDB).

5 years of infrastructure architecture database architecture and networking experience
Experience working with end user or developer communities
Expertise with Open Source database technologies such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like ElastiCache and MongoDB.
10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
