Description:
ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman Sheet Metal Workerto join our ATCO Facilities Solutions team in Calgary AB.
The Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker is responsible for the layout fabrication and installation of ductwork and other sheet metal components for HVAC systems on new and retro fit construction sites. The ideal candidate has experience completing I.C.I. projects.
The successful candidate must be willing to work after hours and on weekends as required. Uniforms PPE are supplied.
Responsibilities:
- Install sheet metal ductwork (supply return exhaust) according to blueprints shop drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret construction plans HVAC drawings and technical documents
- Fabricate and modify duct systems using hand and power tools
- Install hangers supports dampers diffusers VAV boxes grilles and related components
- Coordinate with site foreman HVAC installers and other trades to meet project timelines
- Ensure all installations meet local codes industry standards and company quality requirements
- Train and mentor apprentices as needed
- Draw fittings and perform material takeoffs from construction plans
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Certified Sheet Metal Worker (Red Seal) with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
- Strong commitment to personal and team safety
- Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required
- Willing and able to travel
