Job Description

The Opportunity

The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the administration and control of the daily finance activities for Sevens business units. Tasks include but are not limited to business partnering with internal stakeholders budgeting and forecasting general ledger management reconciliations and reporting. This role is also responsible for mentoring and providing support to the broader team of Analysts who manage different business units and/or finance functions within Seven.

Based at our head office in Eveleigh Sydney you will collaborate closely with the Financial Reporting team Finance Managers and key business units to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accounting Manager youll be:

  • Providing accurate and timely financial insights and analysis for business units and management.
  • Managing the finance calendar cycle including monthend journals financial reports and variance analysis.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations accrual calculations and financial reporting.
  • Preparing tax returns FBT statutory accounts and data for fixed asset capitalisation.
  • Supporting and mentoring the broader Financial Analysis Team.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency in financial operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal professional and ethical financial standards.

About You

You are a detailoriented analytical and proactive finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You bring a strategic mindset and a passion for delivering financial excellence.

You will have:

  • Strong data analysis and MS Excel skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and CPA/ CA certification (or working towards).
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A teamfocused attitude with the ability to influence and support colleagues.
  • A willingness to adapt and embrace new challenges.
