Basic Function:
A Behavior Analyst must hold a current Board Certified Behavior Analyst certificate or hold a current license as a
Behavior Specialist in the State of Pennsylvania. A person employed in the position of Behavior Analyst is qualified to consult train and provide services for students PK12. This position reports to and is evaluated by the Director of Special Education Services and Student Support Services. This position is a Professioal Staff CBA position.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct functional behavior assessments with written reports and create positive behavior support plans for students K12.
- Assist in the design and development of effective interventions in support of students and staff as part of written behavior support plans.
- Provide consultative and direct support for students with a wide range of disabilities including autism socialemotional disabilities intellectual disabilities multiple disabilities and other categories of eligibility.
- Engage in leadership and professional activities relevant to problem behavior prevention and schoolwide systems of support.
- Provide professional development and training for teachers and staff and serve in the role of mentor or advisor for considerations of student behavior.
- Provide services to individual students or groups of students or facilitate the implementation of districtwide systems for developing behavior plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Serve as a member of MTSS evaluation IEP team(s) as warranted.
- Provide parent information and training.
**Note The Behavior Analyst is restricted from performing duties unique to those provided by certified school counselor school psychologist or a certified special education teacher.
