About the Role

MacKillop Family Services is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander professional to lead the design delivery and evaluation of cultural awareness training across the organisation. As a key member of our Learning and Development team youll shape cultural education initiatives that build a culturally safe and inclusive workforce.

This role delivers both online and inperson training weekly and plays a strategic role in embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout the organisation.

Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

At MacKillop Family Services we are deeply committed to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to ensure cultural safety cultural humility selfdetermination and reconciliation are embedded in our practice. We honour the resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people celebrate the strength of their cultures and support connection to culture language country and community.

We now looking forward to launching and implementing our 3rd RAP (Stretch RAP) continuing to build meaningful partnerships and alliances with Aboriginal communities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design cocreate and deliver cultural awareness and cultural safety training
  • Provide cultural oversight for workshops and development programs
  • Promote a strong organisational understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
  • Support the development of a culturally competent workforce
  • Collaborate with the L&D Manager and broader HR team to ensure consistent and impactful training delivery
  • Work closely with the National Director of the Nanyubak Unit: First Nations Practice and Partnerships.


About You

  • Strong connection to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities and culture
  • Lived experience and understanding of cultural values practices and contemporary issues
  • Experience in training delivery and resource development for diverse audiences
  • Qualifications in Education Social Work Community Development or related field
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and Learning Management Systems (LMS)


Requirements

  • Valid and current Drivers Licence
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop)
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
