Are you passionate about education and eager to make a real difference in the lives of students Join us as a Residential Assistant in our Residential Programs and help our students lead more independent lives. You will have a direct impact on students with complex disabilities and visual impairments. In this vital role youll support our educators and help our students thrive. We provide flexible schedules as well as free oncampus housing and meal options when available!
You encourage student independence selfconfidence and overall growth by providing direct care teaching independent living skills and offering classroom support.
You excel at helping students manage their behaviors and develop social and communication skills.
You have a strong understanding of both the general curriculum and the expanded core curriculum to help students reach their educational milestones.
You are able to maintain accurate records of student progress and are skilled at evaluating and documenting learning outcomes.
You are compassionate about creating a positive inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported and motivated to succeed.
High School diploma or equivalent required Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
Experience working with students with special needs either in a classroom setting through volunteer work or in another professional setting preferred
Willingness to complete and maintain First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) SafetyCare Training Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Sign Language (dependent on program needs)
Valid drivers license and willingness to drive school vehicles preferred
