Job Summary
The Blood Donor Center Supervisor provides clinical and administrative supervision for frontline staff in the Blood Donor Center and blood drives. The supervisor is responsible for the daytoday operations in the Blood Donor Center. The Supervisor also oversee the employees in the Blood Donor Center including performance reviews scheduling compliant management onboarding and performance management. The supervisor oversees donor safety and is responsible for improving donor safety and customer/staff satisfaction. Supervises the administrative regulatory and operative functions of the Blood Donor Center and the Patient Blood Management (PBM) program to ensure collection and transfusion related activities are conducted in the safest possible manner and meet or exceed all existing regulatory standards. Collaborates with Transfusion Medicine Manager on all budgetary activities in the Blood Donor Center and the Patient Blood Management (PBM). The Supervisor oversees all related activities with Marketing and Foundation Departments. Also participates in transfusion related meetings peer reviews and educational activities within the hospital.

Responsibilities
Oversees and assists in the production of blood components manufactured at Frederick Health Blood Donor Center.
Supervision of assigned agents including but not limited to interviewing/hiring training coaching evaluating and disciplining to ensure a wellqualified team and to enhance operational success.
Ensures adequate staffing to meet call center objectives.
Projects staffing needs and develops strategies to ensure call hours objectives are met.
Initiates defined contingency actions during the call period as required to maximize production.
Responsible for monitoring individual agent calls evaluating calls against defined standards of performance and providing coaching to service agents.
Utilize thirdparty reviews to provide coaching. Identify and schedule training for agents according to identified needs.
Utilize systems reports and resources productively to achieve objectives costeffectively.
Implement programs for leading and motivating agent to achieve recruitment organizational objectives and minimize turnover.
Identifies operational problems immediately corrects the problems and works to prevent future recurrences. Works with support departments and supervisors to identify and solve problems.
Performs daily administrative and leadership tasks communicates department metrics daily weekly and monthly. Serves as a department resource by responding to questions from employees; handles escalated concerns that fall outside of the purview of the lead schedulers.
Provides training regarding laboratory and hospital policies and Blood Donor Services procedures
Monitors employees continuing education competency and proficiency
Perform employee evaluations
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies: FDA AABB CAP Maryland health department.
Develop and keep current Standard Operating Procedures and Policies
Monitors department QC and equipment maintenance
Investigates complaints problems and errors; ensures appropriate action is taken
Performs tracking and trending analysis as needed
Performs Blood Donor Services quality program duties as needed
Maintains Blood Donor Services quality program in accordance with regulations
Participates in Transfusion Committee meetings
Minimum Education Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Qualifications
Medical Technologist MT MLS or RN with 2 years donor room experience
5 years experience in Immunohematology experience preferred
Donor room and/or Immunohematology skills preferred

Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups:

Pay is based on experience skills and education. If position is parttime salary will be prorated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. NonExempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid if applicable.
