Position Overview:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) at Leadership Prep School will provide specialized services to support students in developing the necessary skills for academic success and daily living activities. The OT will collaborate with educators parents and administrators to ensure that students receive appropriate interventions tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct evaluations to determine students functional abilities in schoolrelated tasks.
- Assess sensory motor cognitive and perceptual skills to identify areas of need.
- Develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment results.
Intervention and Support:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance students fine and gross motor skills selfcare and sensory processing abilities.
- Collaborate with teachers to modify classroom environments and tasks to support students success.
Consultation and Collaboration:
- Work closely with teachers parents and support staff to implement interventions.
- Provide training and resources to educators and families on best practices for supporting students occupational needs.
- Participate in Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings to contribute to IEP development and goal setting.
Compliance and Professional Development:
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations regarding occupational therapy services in schools.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services provided.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid Texas licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in schoolbased occupational therapy preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Salary and Compensation:
- Minimum salary: $340 per day
- 176day calendar
