Job Description
RSU 9 iscontinually recruiting substitutesin the following areas:
- Teacher
- Ed Tech
- Secretary
Employment cannot be finalized until the applicant has completed requirements for a complete background check and fingerprinting as required by Maine State Statute. Please see the information below to complete the process with the Maine Department of Education.
Who Must be Fingerprinted
- Anyone who works for a school district that is over 18 years old
- Anyone who is contracted through a school district
What do I need to be Fingerprinted
- Create a MEIS account:Go to for instructions on how to create a MEIS account
- Register at to make your fingerprints appointment. $55 fee)
- Submit a new application for CHRC. $15 fee)
How often do I need to be Fingerprinted
- Every 5 years unless you have been continuously employed for the last 5 years by a Maine school district.
- **Coaches and Substitute Teachers must be fingerprinted every 5 years regardless of continuous employment.
