SUMMARY OF DUTIES
As an Adult Protective Service Specialist you will receive referrals and determine the need for and investigates alleged incidents of adult abuse or neglect. Situations may involve physical abuse neglect and abandonment sexual abuse psychological and verbal abuse financial exploitation and other types of selfneglect.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelors Degree in the human social behavioral or criminal sciences and two years human service law enforcement or investigative experience;
OR
An Associates Degree in the human social behavioral or criminal sciences and four years human service law enforcement or investigative experience.
Three years professional level experience related to the position may substitute for the Bachelors degree; 18 months for an Associates.

Experience communicating and problem solving in a complex situation to reach an agreed upon resolution.
Experience interpreting and explaining rules and/or regulations.
Experiencing interviewing people to gather information.
Experience working with difficult clients and/or customers in challenging situations.
Experience in report writing and caseload management.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to drive and meet with individuals in their homes community settings nursing homes or other care settings. A valid drivers license is required and an acceptable driving record.
