POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction oversees the development implementation and monitoring of safety management throughout the organization. Coordinates the Environment of Care program in accordance with Joint Commission standards in order to assure a hazardfree facility for patients visitors and colleagues. Maintains liaison with external regulatory agencies pertaining to environmental health and safety and develops and implements policies in compliance with standards and regulations. Manages the information collection and evaluation system in order to identify and mitigate unsafe environment of care conditions. Assists the Senior Director of Facilities when required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Facilities Engineering or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
At least seven 7 years experience in a technical and managerial position with increased responsibility.
At least 5 years of facilities management experience in a mid to large size academic medical center with similar responsibilities and progressive management experience in building maintenance and/or construction is required.
