Position: K8 Music Teacher (SharedTime)Employer: Brighton Public Schools (Placement at Saint John Vianney Catholic School in Wyoming MI)Job Type: LongTerm Substitute or Permanent2425 Schedule:Tuesdays: 8:30 AM 11:00 AMWednesdays: 10:00 AM 3:30 PMPosition Overview:Brighton Public Schools is seeking a passionate and qualified K8 Music Teacher for a sharedtime position at Saint John Vianney Catholic School in Wyoming MI. This role is ideal for educators who love inspiring young musicians and fostering a love of music in students from kindergarten through 8th grade. We are open to either a longterm substitute or a permanent hire for this :Develop and implement engaging music lessons for students in grades fundamental music concepts including rhythm melody harmony and students to a variety of musical styles instruments and vocal students for potential performances concerts or school a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and with school staff and administration to align music curriculum with educational (Per State of Michigan Requirements):Candidates must meet the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) qualifications for teaching music. Requirements include:Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a JX (Music Education K12 or JQ (Instrumental and Vocal Music K12 Endorsement OR eligibility for an interim or substitute permit.A bachelors degree in Music Education or a related field from an accredited of Michigans music education standards and teaching music to elementary and/or middle school students (preferred).Strong classroom management and communication to engage and motivate students of varying skill levels and with state district diocesean and school background check Qualifications:Experience with both vocal and instrumental music with Orff Kodly or other music education experience in a sharedtime or private school to Apply:Interested candidates should submit the following:ResumeCover Letter detailing teaching experience and availabilityCopy of Michigan Teaching Certificate (if applicable)ReferencesPlease send applications to or apply via Brighton Public Schools hiring Public Schools is an equalopportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
