To teach courses in the Architecture and Construction Science Program focusing on the management of construction operations. This includes project selection estimating bidding scheduling subcontracting cost tracking project documentation construction bonds insurance payments and project closeout. Emphasis on developing professional communication skills through studentprepared multimedia presentations. Instruction on methods and management techniques utilized in the building process.
Responsibilities:
Teach fulltime.
Counsel with students.
Research and scholarly works.
Required Education and Experience:
Candidates must have a terminal degree in Construction Science Construction Management or Engineering (Ph.D. or Architecture . or Ph.D.
Five 5 years teaching experience at the college level in the undergraduate and/or graduate levels of instruction.
Experience in teaching should include instruction in courses and seminars involving construction operations management techniques scheduling budgetary concepts Building Information Modeling (BIM) energy efficiency and sustainability in the construction industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree and a Ph.D. in construction science or management architecture or engineering. The masters degree can be in a related field such as preservation or business administration.
Certifications in construction project management and/or LEED is highly recommended in order to address current topics in the industry.
Ten 10 years teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in construction science or management architecture or engineering is preferred.
A minimum of five 5 years of employment in the construction industry that includes a broad portfolio of work including a clear demonstration of managing construction of buildings and professional experience in addressing project design issues energy efficiency and facilities audits is preferred.
