Job Description
Lakeside High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Athletic Trainer/Classroom Teacher to join our team. This dualrole position combines the responsibilities of providing athletic training services under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer with teaching responsibilities in Sports Medicine Foundations of Healthcare or Anatomy and Physiology. The ideal candidate will have a passion for student health and wellness strong instructional skills and the ability to collaborate with staff students and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistant Athletic Trainer Duties:
- Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with prevention evaluation treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
- Provide emergency care and first aid at practices games and schoolrelated athletic events (including evenings and weekends as needed).
- Maintain accurate records of injuries treatments and communications with parents coaches and physicians.
- Assist with the coordination of athletic physicals and injury screenings.
- Collaborate with coaches school nurses and physicians to ensure studentathlete health and safety.
- Support the implementation of injury prevention programs and strength and conditioning initiatives.
Classroom Teacher Duties:
- Teach courses in Sports Medicine Foundations of Healthcare and Anatomy and Physiology to high school students.
- Develop engaging standardsbased lesson plans that support diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain a safe respectful and supportive learning environment.
- Integrate realworld healthcare and sports medicine practices into the curriculum.
- Participate in curriculum development school committees professional learning communities and continuing education.
- Communicate effectively with students parents and colleagues.
Salary ranges from a minimum $56368 to a maximum $81027 based on the 2024/25 salary schedule for a210 day contract. Salary is based on experience. A complete salary schedule can be found on our school website.
