About HilltownHilltown Cooperative Charter Public School is a K8 public charter school founded in 1995. We are currently seeking a parttime .5 FTE) Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who shares this vision and is excited to contribute to a vibrant childcentered and collaborative school Overview The Occupational Therapist or COTA at Hilltown works as part of our Student Services team to support the development of fine motor sensory selfregulation and functional life skills for students across grades K8. The therapist or assistant collaborates closely with classroom teachers special educators and families to ensure that students with diverse learning profiles can fully access the schools curriculum and environment. This position includes a mix of direct service consultation and anticipated start date for this position is August 20 are looking for a practitioner who brings warmth flexibility strong communication skills and a studentcentered approach to therapy. A successful candidate will be passionate about supporting student growth in developmentally appropriate engaging and inclusive Qualifications (OT or COTA):For Occupational Therapists: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy current MA license to practice as an OTFor COTAs: Associates degree from an accredited OTA program current MA license to practice as a COTAExperience working with children in educational settingsPreferred Qualifications:2 years of experience in a schoolbased roleFamiliarity with IDEA IEP processes and schoolbased documentationExperience supporting students with a variety of learning emotional and physical needsPrimary Responsibilities:Provide direct and consultative OT services to students with IEPs consistent with their service delivery gridsConduct or assist with evaluations as appropriate under the supervision of a licensed OT (COTA only)Collaborate with classroom teachers and special educators to support students participation in classroom routines and activitiesDesign and/or implement strategies modifications and accommodations that enhance students functional performance in schoolParticipate in IEP team meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals and service plansMaintain documentation of services and progress toward goalsCommunicate regularly with families to support homeschool collaborationSupport sensory and motor skill development across the school environment including through classroombased or group interventionsParticipate in student support team meetings and consult with staff on student needsAdditional Expectations:Attend and engage in faculty meetings student services meetings and relevant professional developmentCollaborate with related service providers administrators and staff to promote inclusive practicesMaintain appropriate licensure certifications and compliance with all regulatory standards
