What were looking for
Were seeking a motivated Junior Android Developer to join our team. This role is perfect for someone with a foundational understanding of Android development who is eager to grow their skills in a supportive environment.
What youll be working on
- Develop and maintain Android applications under the guidance of senior developers
- Design build and maintain scalable and highly available services across multiple data regions while writing highquality backend code
- Write clean maintainable and efficient code
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to define design and ship new features
- Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks
- Participate in code reviews and implement feedback
- Stay updated with the latest Android development / backend practices and technologies
- Own features end to end including crafting technical specs writing readable and extensible code and following software best practices which allow us to move quickly
- Build observable systems that track important metrics that help monitoring as well as make important product decisions
- Foster a culture of collaboration testing code reviews and mentorship to help the team reach their full potential
Wed love to hear from people with
- 3 years experience in web / mobile application development mainly focused on the backend
- Basic knowledge of Android SDK different versions of Android and how to deal with different screen sizes
- Experience with Java and/or Kotlin programming languages
- Understanding of Restful APIs and JSON
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred)
- Basic understanding of software design patterns
- Expertise in designing and building worldclass services and APIs
- Experience with Python and frameworks like FastAPI Flask Pyramid
- Strong fundamentals in objectoriented programming and design patterns
- Experience with ORM frameworks and SQL/NoSQL databases experience with Elasticsearch a plus
- Experience with messaging and streaming frameworks like Kafka Apache Spark etc. a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both colocated and remote engineers and crossfunctional partners
- A growth/data mindset in approaching challenges
SurveyMonkey believes inperson collaboration is valuable for building relationships fostering community and enhancing our speed and in problemsolving and decisionmaking. As such this opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru 3 days per week.
