Job Description
UNM Medical Group Inc. is hiring for a NonCertified NonRegistered Medical istant to join our Cancer Center. This opportunity is a fulltime day shift opening located in Albuquerque New Mexico.
SignOn Bonus $2000
Minimum $37814 Midpoint $46425*
*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
Summary:
- Provides direct service to patients in a UNMMG Ambulatory Clinic including registration demographic verification and appointment scheduling.
- Handles insurancerelated tasks such as verifying benefits obtaining referrals and managing prior authorizations.
- Conducts patient checkin/checkout collects copays and gathers patient data and medical history.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Medical Assistant:
- High school diploma or GED and
- Medical Assistant Program Graduate Certificate and
- If applicable; current Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- BLS certification
Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

About the Behavioral Health Clinic Rio Rancho:
The Behavioral Health Clinic has an interdisciplinary team providing accessible behavioral health care to the Sandoval County community while also coordinating care with integrated behavioral providers at the neighboring Sandoval Regional Medical Center and nearby Grande Primary Care Clinic. Team members work collaboratively across behavioral health and related disciplines including psychiatry psychology nursing primary care clinical social work counseling and peer support.
Types of services at Behavioral Health:
- Behavioral Health therapy provided by psychologist and licensed therapist age 8adult)
- Group Therapy for anxiety &v depression
- Wraparound care for complex behavioral health needs age 418
- Peer support for parents of children with behavioral health challenges.
