InSchool Suspension Coordinator
Job Description

Position: InSchool Suspension Coordinator
Reports To: Building Principal and Assistant Principal
Grade: 56

FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt

Nature of Work
Supervise and monitor students assigned to the InSchool Suspension Program.


Knowledge and Abilities:
1. Applicant should have knowledge of school and classroom rules procedures and practices.
2. Applicant must have the ability to interpret and establish appropriate rules methods and
techniques in maintaining a disciplined academic environment.
3. Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and patience.
4. Applicant must have experience working with students and knowledge of conflict resolutiontechniques is strongly encouraged.


Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide supervision for students who are assigned to the InSchool Suspension classroom.
2. Take daily attendance.
3. Review inschool suspension policies procedures and student expectations with students daily.
4. Work with students and or other staff members during student reflection period on issues such asbehavior management and the prevention of undesirable behaviors that resulted in student beingassigned to ISS.
5. Monitor all ISS assignments; provide encouragement and feedback to students monitor testscomputer work and provide instructional assistance as appropriate.
6. Email teachers for student work requests.
7. Facilitate and arrange delivery of student lunches when necessary.
8. Refer behavior problems to Principal or Assistant Principal.


Education and Experience
1. 48 semester hours of college credit.
2. Experience in working with high school age children.
3. Must be able to handle and react to potential volatile situations and take appropriate action.
