Job Description

MS Asst. Band Director @ Albright Middle School

Purpose:

Direct and manage the overall program of instrumental music for the assigned campus. Provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with all state University Interscholastic League (UIL) and district requirements. Plan activities to achieve district region and state recognition.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of teachers Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (TTESS) and the extracurricular assignment evaluation.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals

Posture: Standing prolonged sitting occasional kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing pulling and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head

Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying 1545 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide or instate travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Probationary contract 187 days plus 4 days of Alief U professional development for a teacher new to the district

Salary Schedule

Minimum teacher salary is $64100

Teacher Salary Schedule

Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days the salary will be less.

Certified teacher signon bonus:

Certified Teacher Any field $4000

Special Education Teacher (SelfContained Assignment) $5000

Bilingual Certified Teacher $5000

Certified Teacher with existing TIA Designation $8000

Bonus payment delivered in two 2 installments50 9/30/25 50 9/30/26

Signon Bonus eligibility ends July 17 2025
