DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position is responsible for a variety of duties related to overall mental health services in the County to include but not limited to the following:

  • Dispatching all daytime calls to the mobile Delaware County Crisis Connections Team.
  • Gathering essential information from callers and dispatching the team to the location.
  • Receiving all dispatch logs for the Delaware County Crisis Connections Team and entering them into the database.
  • Compiling statistics on various aspects of the program analyzing data and writing monthly reports to present at meetings.
  • Receiving referrals from various providers reviewing applications for completeness and eligibility assigning referred consumers to one of the providers receiving 302 inpatient funding authorization request and maintaining databases of consumers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Fulltime employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
  • Telework: No telework for the first six 6 months of employment. After an employee has completed six 6 months of employment and have regular status there may be opportunities for hybrid work per the program offices hybrid schedule.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience andTraining Requirements:

  • Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
  • Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
  • A bachelors degree with a social welfare major; or
  • A bachelors degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
