Job Description

JOB GOAL:Responsible for assisting the principal to provide the cultural and administrative leadership necessary for addressing student safetyand wellbeing socialemotional learning school discipline and overall school effectiveness to create a strong culture for learningPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:o Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or universityo Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in PK12 settingo Masters Degree (preferred)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:o Understands and supports the mission vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.o Obtains Danielson certification within 3 months of the first day in the assignmento Serves as the member of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) at the assigned school in implementing instructionalpractices that include: Leading and facilitating a learning culture among teachers and staff Leading and facilitating campus wide data meetings Observing and overseeing team data meetings Conducting annual formal teacher observations and walkthroughs Using observationfeedback cycles to provide ongoing coaching to teachers Planning and cofacilitating campus professional learning (PL) meetings Planning with PLC leaders Modeling implementation of key Arc of the Year instructional techniques Creating and implementing campus improvement plan (CIP) Supporting teachers in microcredential progress Providing periodic feedback to district and network leadership teams about instructional programs Creating and collecting implementation artifacts for bright spotso Develops guidelines for proper student conduct and implementing disciplinary procedures and policies that ensure a safeand orderly environment at the assigned schoolo Establishes clear expectations systems and routines for behaviors including social and emotional supportso Leads strategies to proactively provide and coordinate student support serviceso Supervises teacher classroom management.o Trains staff on student code of conduct and implementation of discipline.o Develops and implements teacher orientations.o Maintains records of disciplinary actions taken to ensure that the student code of conduct is administered properly.o Communicates with parents and key stakeholders regarding student discipline and safety.o Maintains a safe and orderly school environment.o Monitors the school ground actively for safety checks.o Monitors student attendance and truancy recruitment enrollment and retention activitieso Assists in recruiting selecting and retaining highly effective teachers and staffo Oversees the work of assigned support staff and conducts their performance appraisalso Establishes and implements a plan for socialemotional learning across the school aligned with HPS prioritieso Leads Character School application and designation process at the state and national levelo Establishes a professional rapport with students parents staff and communityo Uses appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvemento Attends meetings conferences and workshops.o Models personal commitment to developing self and otherso Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students parents and schoolpersonnel.o Performs other duties as AND ABILITIES:o Thorough knowledge of classroom management school culture socialemotional learning programs district policies andprocedureso Ability to receive internalize and implement feedback from multiple sourceso Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management both internal and externalto the district.o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.o Ability to use computer including software database used by the district spreadsheet and word processing softwarecalculator copy machine and telephone.o Ability to analyze data and generate reports.o Ability to use effective interview techniques effective public speaking skills and problemsolving skillsWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:o Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.o Moderate travel is required.
