  • Leverage your expertise in health management and workplace compensation to oversee and manage workers compensation claims salary continuance claims and reasonable adjustment requests.

  • You will be a specialist in the applicable legislations to support the Firm in managing illness injury and risk. This role is crucial in facilitating the recovery at work and returntowork processes for employees and providing consultative business advice to enhance organisational health management practices.

About the Role

Our Wellbeing Health & Safety team is expanding and were looking for a Health & Injury Management Advisor to join our vast community of solvers. The Wellbeing Health & Safety team brings our purpose to life by ensuring PwC is a firm where wellbeing sits at the core of who we are and how we operate so that all are able to thrive. The team acts in an advisory capacity to support a number of organisationally important initiatives relating to the wellbeing capability and capacity of our partners team leaders and staff. The incumbent will work collaboratively with both internal stakeholders (HR Legal Employment Relations) and external parties (insurers brokers and occupational rehabilitation providers) managing approximately 4060 active cases at any given time while supporting strategic team initiatives.

  • Financial Acumen in Claims Management: Demonstrated ability to understand and evaluate the impact of workers compensation claims management strategies on overall claims costs and insurance premiums. Leverage this understanding to optimize processes that minimise financial exposure and contribute to strategic costeffective planning

  • Collaborative Teamwork: Strong ability to work effectively within a team environment actively seeking support and utilizing collaborative resources when managing complex matters. Foster a culture of cooperation and open communication to enhance problemsolving and achieve shared goals

In our Wellbeing Health & Safety team your impact will be seen by:

  • Case Management: Oversee and manage a portfolio of approximately 4060 cases with precision. Ensuring efficient compliant and best practice handling of workers compensation and salary continuance claims. Including timely 3point contact for all new injuries facilitating smooth claims processes

  • RTW Coordination: Develop implement and monitor ReturntoWork plans in collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure successful reintegration of employees into the workplace

  • Negotiation and Liaison with treating parties: Initial contact with treating health practitioners on all new injury management cases and workers compensation claims. Regular and effective engagement with treating medical practitioners (GPs specialists physiotherapists) to negotiate capacity upgrades and progress cases effectively

  • Business Advice: Provide consultative advice to business units in relation to health management workers compensation and related policies and procedures

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams (HR Legal ER) and external parties (insurers brokers medical providers) to strategically manage complex cases and streamline case management processes

  • Reasonable Adjustments: Handle requests for reasonable workplace adjustments relating to employee health matters ensuring compliance with legal and organisational frameworks

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of all interactions decisions and actions related to health management cases. Prepare reports and data analysis as required for continuous improvement strategic planning and risk identification

  • Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed of relevant legislation and regulations to ensure all practices comply with organisational and legal standards in each state and territory

  • Strategic Initiatives: Support and/or lead strategic initiatives related to health management participating in projects to improve organisational health safety and wellbeing culture

  • Strategic Engagement: Collaborate with brokers and leaders in strategic discussions to address complex claims aiming to enhance claim performance and achieve optimal outcomes for all parties involved. Utilise these interactions to identify opportunities for improved processes and decisionmaking within the claims management framework

  • Education and Development: Provide education and support to managers and staff on health management processes and procedures

  • Facilitation of Training: Prepare and deliver training to stakeholders on various topics across health and injury management

  • Incident Identification and Reporting: Accurately identify notifiable and reportable incidents and initiate the appropriate processes to comply with internal procedures and relevant legislative requirements. Ensure timely communication and documentation of incidents for compliance and strategic analysis

  • Influence and Consultation: Collaborate with People and Culture partners effectively influencing and guiding them in fulfilling their role in the returntowork processes. Advocate for integrated approaches that align health management objectives with broader organisational goals

  • Strategic Visioning: Maintain a holistic view of organisational health and injury management recognising the strategic role leaders play in supporting employees during recovery and reintegration. Facilitate leaders understanding and engagement in processes that address and support employee needs linking these processes to organisational objectives for sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Allied Health is advantageous

  • Experience in workers compensation personal injury management or a similar role a background in workplace rehabilitation or return to work programs is highly regarded

  • Return to Work Coordinator qualification

  • Enhanced knowledge of workers compensation legislation nationally and returntowork processes.

  • Experience in managing complex cases with multiple stakeholders
