ATHLETICS GENERAL POOL COACHING POSITIONS
Job Goals:
- Serve on coaching staff of a CPS Sport.
- Serves as a positive role model and helpteach children the values of fair play good sportsmanship teamwork dedication and commitment.
- Develop monitor supervise and motivatestudentathletes to play a sportboth beginners and advancedrunners.
- Commit to building relationships with and have a willingness to coach both young women and young men academically and athletically.
- instruct studentathletes in fundamental skills strategies and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
- Guildstudentathletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values pride of accomplishment acceptable social behavior selfdiscipline selfconfidence and good sportsmanship.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Work cooperativelyand in a timely matter withSchoolAthletic Director and the District Athletic Department in regard to informationthat might be required.
- Meetall of the requirements set forth by the District State Board of Education and The Ohio Department of Education relative to Coaches Tool Chest Trainings/Certificateand PupilActivity Permit.
- Recognizethe need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education Superintendent of Schools School PrincipalsConference Leagues andthe Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA)
- Checkstudentathletes academic eligibility.
- Model the behavior expected of studentathletesincludingtimeliness to practicesbeing positive and enthusiastic being respectand practiceconstructive criticismwhileupholding the disciplines of the program.
- Seta positive example at all timesthrough his/her example in appearance behavior language and conduct. Be appropriately dressed at all times.
- Maintain asuitable sideline conduct at all times includingthe use of appropriate language.
- Showphysical vitality and enthusiasm for the sport with useof good judgment in decisionmaking.
- Assist with the scheduling ofpreseason practices on the first day permitted for the sport.
- Participatein clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance.
- Participatein School Events (i.e. Awards NightPep Assemblies Athletic Boosters Meetings etc..
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt properly to changing game situations.
- Is wellversed and knowledgeable in matters pertaining to the sport as well as lookat ways to constantly improve knowledge and coaching techniques.
- Is innovative in using new coaching techniques and ideas in addition to already proven methods of coaching.
- Ensure that team iswellprepared for opponent(s).
- Providemotivation for team to meet/exceed their goals and stressthe value of acceptable personal behavior by each studentathlete.
- Actively promotegood sportsmanship at all times.
- Follow the District Athletic Department Policiesas outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meetall criteria as outlined in job description.
- Maintenance and inventoryof equipment and supplies.
Skills/Essential Functions:
- Fundraisingexperience.
- Ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Trainings/Certifications:
- Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Successful participation in a similar activity in high school and/or college. Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the high school or college level is desired.
- Provide a satisfactory result on a County Police Records CheckState BCII Check and FBI Fingerprint Background Check. Possess a validOhio Department of Education PupilActivity Permit. Provide satisfactory completion of the Coaches Tool Chest Trainings/Certificate.
CONTRACT PROVISIONS:
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Supplemental Annual Limited
SALARY: Per Schedule E of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement
