Position Overview:
The Senior Associate Financial Reporting will be responsible for the monthend closing process preparation of financial statements and internal control of all financial processes. You will support the Financial Reporting Manager to ensure the reliability and accuracy of financial statements and meet all relevant accounting tax and reporting standards both from a local regulatory perspective and an international perspective. The output of your work will be used by Matta s management team to make sound and informed business decisions. This is an exciting role for a person who wants to help build and enhance the growth of ChemTech company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading and coordinating the daytoday general accounting activities (i.e. recording of journal entries preparation of monthly account reconciliations recording intercompany transactions etc..
- Responsible for month quarter and yearend close processes including journal entries reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements supporting schedules and monthly reports.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies in accordance with IFRS US GAAP and implementation of changes in accounting standards.
- Preparation of accounting policy memos and assisting in drafting and implementing accounting policies.
- Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
- Develop and improve processes tools and systems to manage reporting for a fast growing business.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work effectively and strategically with crossfunctional teams to ensure all directions alternatives and decisions have been thoroughly reviewed from a financial perspective.
- Facilitate and coordinate multiple reporting deadlines and respond quickly to adhoc requests.
- Support the preparation of the investor report pack.
- Support FP&A to prepare budgets forecast strategic plans and conduct variance analysis.
- Assist with yearend audits tax filings and statutory and regulatory returns ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor s Degree in Accounting / Economics / Banking and Finance or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as ICAN or ACCA.
- Must be technologically savvy have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Financial management systems accounting policies standards cost accounting etc.
- 4 years of professional working experience in accounting or finance functions in an Ecommerce Tech or Fintech sector would be an added advantage.
- Experience with IFRS and US GAAP accounting audits and boardlevel reporting.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships crossfunctionally and with third parties.
- Possess strong interpersonal negotiation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Process improvement and project management skills and experience.
- Strong aptitude in leveraging technology to simplify internal processes minimize manual work and limit delays in processing.
- Extreme sense of organization with the ability to timely meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Enjoy handson activities requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with Zoho or other accounting software.
- Experience with ERP systems implementations and change management is an asset.
