Job Description

Restaurant Manager Luxury Restaurant Cape Town
Salary: Negotiable Dependent on Experience

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Restaurant Manager for a prestigious luxury restaurant located in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be a polished and experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership and operational management skills.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations including the South African wine industry

  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry in a managerial or supervisory role

  • Proficiency in MS Office POS systems (Lightspeed) and backoffice software

Personal Attributes:

  • Wellgroomed and presentable at all times

  • Physically fit and able to work long hours while multitasking efficiently

  • Excellent communication interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Skilled in conflict resolution and problemsolving

  • Calm and composed under pressure

  • Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and lead a team by example

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff scheduling training recruitment and supervision

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure the restaurant is prepared and serviceready before each shift

  • Implement and enforce policies procedures and service standards

  • Create and assign floor layouts; communicate special dietary requirements and guest occasions to staff

  • Lead the team in providing excellent guest service and assist with wine pairings where required

  • Address and resolve customer complaints follow up on reviews and feedback

  • Manage general maintenance cleanliness and ambiance of the restaurant

  • Staff performance reviews appraisals and disciplinary actions

  • Manage and update menus wine pairings and website content

  • Order and procure operational supplies including stationery menus glassware linens etc.

  • Manage cash flow payments petty cash and reconcile with accounts

  • Conduct daily cashups and handle comps debtors and discrepancies

  • Perform various administrative and operational tasks as required
