Are you passionate about environmental stewardship and eager to make a positive impact on public land ecosystems We are seeking a dedicated Management Crew Lead to play a crucial role in our Terrestrial Invasive Species Program. In this dynamic position you will be responsible for coordinating and executing field data collection and control efforts ensuring the effective management of invasive species. Your expertise will be pivotal in maintaining partnerships with municipalities counties and NGOs contributing to the success of our biocontrol initiatives.
As a Management Crew Lead you will lead inventory fieldwork coordinate control measures and provide valuable training on identification. Proficiency in tools like EDDMapS and ArcGIS will be essential as you manage data entry conduct quality assurance and analyze trends to contribute to the Annual Terrestrial Invasive Species Program Report. Your role extends beyond technical aspects involving collaboration with local stakeholders governments and the public to address issues related to terrestrial invasive species.
This position holds significance for public land users influencing the improvement of recreation experiences by controlling invasive weeds. Furthermore your decisions will impact ecosystem goods and services benefiting grazing allotment holders indigenous communities and the broader public. Required:
A twoyear diploma in Environmental Science Agriculture or a related field.
Valid Class 5 drivers license or equivalent.
Proficient in identification through handson experience.
Experience working alone in remote locations.
Experience in inventory control and biocontrol programs.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered based on:
1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
1 year of experience for 1 year education
Assets
Proficiency in data analysis tools especially EDD Maps and ArcGIS.
Alberta Pesticide Applicator Licence.
Possesses some supervisory experience.
OHV/ATV training.
Trailering experience.
Mechanical aptitude.

36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday.
1 wage position located in Lethbridge.
Overtime may be encountered on occasion.
Length of employment is dependent upon location:
1 position in Lethbridge 4 months
Wage Benefits:
Wage employees receive 11.2 in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of benefits and vacation leave.
5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.
