This recruitment will be used to fill three 3 vacancies.

These are 12month nonpermanent positions.

The duty station for these positions is in King County therefore the incumbent will receive 5 premium pay in addition to the salary listed above.

The Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) is seeking dynamic leaders with a high level of professionalism to instruct facilitate and deliver Crisis Intervention positions play a vital role in crafting training programs to effectively support law enforcement that respond to individuals facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders fostering a positive impact within our you meet the requirements listed below and have a passion for this important work we encourage you to apply!

Two 2 positions will support the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Statewide program and require regular statewide travel.

One 1 position will support CIT Mental Illness Drug Dependency King County and will require less travel.

Duties

Duties assigned to these positions include (but are not limited to):

  • Deliver highquality instruction and facilitation for core CIT training blocks ensuring engaging and informative learning experiences.
  • Teach assigned courses meeting learning objectives and providing regular feedback to students.
  • Conduct frequent travel for CIT training instruction auditing and support.
  • Provide guidance support and feedback to students fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Integrate cultural competency into training programs promoting inclusive approaches for diverse communities and historically underserved populations.
  • Provide expert guidance and instruction on crisis intervention techniques delivering researchbased CIT training to criminal justice and mental health professionals.
  • Drive continuous improvement of CIT training programs identifying areas for enhancement and recommending innovative solutions to advance crisis response.
  • Collaborate with the WSCJTC Curriculum Unit and Audit Unit to inform program revisions and ensure alignment with agency policies.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of CIT program curricula ensuring consistency legal compliance and adherence to agency policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of curriculum revisions and updates ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Collect review and assist in data analysis of training evaluations and surveys to inform program enhancements and improve training effectiveness.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Psychology Sociology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five years 5 of practical experience in a relevant field such as mental health law enforcement or social services.
  • Knowledge of criminal justice culture mental health systems and Washington States Involuntary Treatment Act.
  • Understanding of Adult Learning Theory and its application in training design.
  • Ability to build partnerships with diverse stakeholder groups including law enforcement mental health professionals and community organizations.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with training evaluation methods and metrics.
  • Must support and work effectively with various criminal justice mental health and related personnel.
  • Must demonstrate ethical behavior and integrity and be a subject matter expert in assigned areas.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products such as Teams Word Excel PowerPoint etc.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or Doctorate in Psychology Sociology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five years 5 of supervised experience in a relevant field such as mental health law enforcement or social services.
  • Advanced knowledge of training design delivery and evaluation.
  • Expertise in Adult Learning Theory instructional design and facilitation techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with ability to apply datadriven insights to improve training programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Washington States mental health and criminal justice systems.
  • Experience with communitybased initiatives and partnerships.
  • Licenses or Certifications for Mental Health Professionals (e.g. LPC LCSW CCMHC CIT etc..
