POSITION TITLE: (TP2 Bus Driver

SALARY SCHEDULE: B
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid license (CDL) to drive a school bus preferred; will train otherwise
- Pass required physical examination and drug test
- Clear criminal background and driving record check
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Obeys ALL traffic laws
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
- Makes sure teachers/chaperones and students are aware of bus rules
- Keeps assigned bus clean
- Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
- Checks bus after each operation to ensure all students have exited
- Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
- Report all accidents and complete required reports
- Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on bus
- Participates in all required professional training and follows all procedures as trained annually
- Complies with all Rome Board of Education policies and administrative procedures
