Position Description

Job Summary:

The County is seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Asset Management Technician to play a vital role in managing infrastructure asset data. As part of the Asset Management Team you will be responsible for collecting maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of asset data within the Countys adopted OpenGov Cartegraph asset management system. With nearly 8000 miles of roads and 25 new RightofWay infrastructure asset types being integrated maintaining an uptodate and accurate asset inventory is crucial for the Countys longterm planning and operations.

In this role you will work closely with engineers GIS specialists and public works teams to ensure that asset data is properly recorded maintained and analyzed to support datadriven decisionmaking. Your work will involve data collection quality control reporting and assisting with system support for staff using the asset management software. Additionally you will help develop data protocols conduct research and generate reports to optimize the Countys infrastructure asset management.

This position is ideal for someone meticulous organized and technically skilled with experience in asset management GIS data entry or public works infrastructure. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform QA/QC checks to ensure asset data accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in asset records.
  • Develop and implement data protocols to maintain highquality records.
  • Maintain a structured database of infrastructure assets including location condition work history and ownership.
  • Assist in developing workflows and best practices for managing asset records.
  • Provide technical support to County staff on Cartegraph Asset Management software or similar platforms.
  • Troubleshoot softwarerelated issues and train users on asset management procedures.
  • Generate reports summaries and data visualizations to support decisionmaking.
  • Analyze asset lifecycle trends and infrastructure conditions to aid in planning.
  • Collaborate with engineers GIS teams and public works staff to align asset data with operational needs.
  • Assist with special projects system upgrades and County initiatives to enhance asset management efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements


Education and Experience:

OR
  • Bachelors degree in GIS Engineering Data Management or a related field preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Asset management principles data collection techniques and best practices.
  • GIS concepts mapping and spatial data analysis.
  • Infrastructure asset types such as roads bridges and rightofway elements.
  • QA/QC procedures for ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • County policies and regulatory requirements for asset tracking and reporting.
  • Data Management & Analysis Ability to collect enter and analyze asset data efficiently.
  • Technical Proficiency Experience using Cartegraph GIS tools or other asset management platforms.
  • Attention to Detail Ensuring accuracy and completeness of infrastructure asset records.
  • Problemsolving Identifying and resolving data inconsistencies and system issues.
  • Communication Effectively conveying technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills Managing large datasets and maintaining structured asset inventories.
  • Team Collaboration Working with public works staff engineers and GIS teams to optimize asset workflows.

General Information



Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

FullTime Regular 40 hours per week.

Subject to early mornings late evenings weekends and holidays at times depending upon the project or workload.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience based on 26 pay periods.

Physical Demands and Environmental Exposure:

Most assignments will be performed in an office meeting or operations command center environment but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).

This position requires bending stooping and lifting to 25 lbs. frequent walking standing sitting reaching and ascending/descending stairs.
