VP Development & Construction Critical Facilities Dallas TX
This opportunity is working directly with a leading missioncritical data center developer / wholesaler / Colo provider. This company provides turnkey data center solutions customfit to the requirements of their clients everchanging missioncritical facilitys operational needs. They accomplish this by providing reliability of missioncritical facilities for many of the worlds largest organizations (Hyperscale and Enterprise Customers). We are looking for a VP of Critical Facilities Development & Construction to lead data center construction and development projects. The VP will oversee all aspects of project delivery including budget management scheduling and quality assurance ensuring projects align with company standards and objectives. This role requires providing strategic leadership to contractors consultants and vendors throughout the project lifecycle. Assignments will primarily be regional with a focus on ensuring projects are delivered on time within budget and meeting scope and quality expectations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized detailoriented and capable of managing both the strategic and administrative aspects of development and construction including budgets contracts change orders and other essential documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of data center development and construction projects up to the point of Core and Shell
- Develop and maintain project budgets ensuring adherence to financial targets
- Create and manage project schedules addressing critical path conflicts as needed
- Develop and issue RFPs for project bids evaluate bidder qualifications and negotiate contracts.
- Supervise consultant and contractor activities throughout all project phases
- Monitor job cost tracking systems to ensure compliance with budgets and schedules; process invoices and support cost reporting
- Regularly report on project status and key milestones to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations including permits and safety requirements.
- Participate in due diligence processes for potential developments and acquisitions.
- Drive zoning and rezoning efforts understand permit process collaborate with legal and engineering teams
- Implement sustainability and efficiency initiatives or other energy efficiency programs
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and workflow optimization within the department
- Belong and attend professional organizations such as AFCOM ASHRAE 7x24 Exchange PTC Datacenter Dynamics / DCD Uptime iMasons Bisnow etc.
Qualifications:
- 810 years of experience in construction management with a focus on complex commercial data center or mixeduse critical facilities projects from inception to completion
- Strong experience managing project budgets schedules and contracts
- Familiarity with design development and construction principles specific to missioncritical data center facilities Civil Structural and Architectural (CSA) Focused
- Proficient in drafting agreements and reviewing contracts
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with design software is a plus
- Analytical and detailoriented with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fastpaced environment
- Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes EMN ETN MMNs Seabees Army Power Generation Air Force Power Production Generator Techs Maritime Coast Guard Army National Guard etc.
