Responsibilities:
In addition to serving as a core instructor in the schools innovative curriculum the candidate will advise on technical elements of ongoing projects develop novel approaches and initiatives to better healthcare and support students through mentorship and research collaboration. The Assistant/Associate Professor will teach in the M.D. programs Population Health & Medical Research course Problembased Learning course and longitudinal Population Health course. They will also have the opportunity to teach in the Rural Health Sciences Ph.D. program.
Qualifications:
Candidates must:
Hold an M.D. degree . degree or a Ph.D. in Epidemiology/Biostatistics Population Heath Health Promotion Healthcare Management or a related field.
Have experience teaching at the undergraduate medical education or graduate school level
The ideal candidate will have:
Interest in teaching in a variety of educational environments including small group large group and oneonone settings.
Familiarity and/or experience with rural health.
Experience working as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to mentor students design and supervise research projects publish and contribute to departmental efforts to obtain extramural funding.
Experience presenting and communicating technical and statistical concepts to clinicians policy makers and lay audiences.
Experience with either extramural grant support research design or analysis.
Experience using qualitative and quantitative methods and with linking and working with large datasets.
This is a 12month nontenure track position. Rank will be determined based on the credentials of the selected candidate.
