ERG is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to assist with facilities projects for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on various systems and equipment within buildings including electrical plumbing and general building infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude the ability to troubleshoot and repair issues and the ability to work independently while ensuring a safe efficient and functional environment for all building occupants. The position is based out of a federal site in Indian Head Maryland.
Job Description:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems including plumbing electrical and other mechanical equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical electrical and plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance.
Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
Monitor building systems for issues and report any malfunctions or areas requiring attention.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure facilities remain operational and functional.
Assist with emergency repairs and respond to urgent situations as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience without a license or certification OR 2 years of experience if licensed/certified
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance mechanical or related fields preferred.
Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and other mechanical systems.
Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) required
Familiarity with state and local building codes OSHA regulations and NFPA standards a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secretlevel security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
This position will require a preemployment physical exam.
This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes dust heat ionizing and nonionizing radiation and chemicals). You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Must be able to stand walk push pull squat bend and reach during shifts.
Must be able to use carts dollies hand trucks and other gear to move items around.
Must be able to go up and down stairs. (where applicable)
$75000 $105000 a year
